New Zealand has a new strength in their bowling side, with the return of Shane Bond, who now plays for the national team after all that happened with ICL.
This could give the much needed sting in their not so formidable attack. Kyle Mills is uncertain and overall the team lacks form.
India have an edge here as they have done well in their last appearances here in Sri Lanka winning their last two series. A couple of wins here could well take them to top spot in the ODI rankings.
But we still have to take on Bond. Not to worry, we still have the two most successful one day players in our side. With Sachin opening the line up, and Dravid at no 3, we could see the much needed solidarity in the line up, especially in Sri Lankan pitches which seem to be slow, and under light and dew its difficult to connect.
Yuvraj, Raina, Rohit, Dhoni and Yusuf coule add a fit of firepower if needed, especially in power plays.
About the bowling options we have, I would look forward to seeing Nehra perform well. He is a natural swinger of the ball and could trouble a few batsmen under lights. Ishant might be a bit of worry because of his form off late, but I think he will come back. He is a bowler with good pace and good attitude. Bhajji must have a good warm up after slapping that reporter few days back, and should be ready with his googlys and doosras. PK should show his agression and will hit the deck hard as he does. No worry for him.
Overall I think we are looking good. And should be able to take on NZ easily.
Looking forward to the match today.
